Then, cross the English Channel by ferry and arrives in Brussels by motorcoach. Continue to Germany for a leisurely Rhine River cruise. Day to day

Day 1


Check into your hotel. In the afternoon, you may want to start exploring the lively British capital. Uniformed hosts are available to help you make the most of your stay.

Day 2


A full day to savour our rich program of optional activities: take a panoramic tour of London's landmarks, visit the Tower of London, or choose an excursion to Windsor Castle. Tonight, maybe a leisurely cruise on the Thames River? (B)

Day 3


Transfer to the railway station and board the EUROSTAR TRAIN to Brussels. Here, your Tour Director and comfortable coach will take you to your overnight hotel. (B)

Day 4


Drive south to the shores of the mighty Rhine. Your included RHINE CRUISE reveals some legendary sites such as the Lorelei rock, ancient castles, and scenic vineyards. On to Wurzburg, a baroque city known for its cathedral, bridges, palace, and gardens. (B,D)

Day 5


En route to Prague, stop in Nuremberg, an ancient city still showing its medieval walls with rampart walks and an 11th-century castle. It is also famous for its 1945 trials of the Nazi leaders and war criminals. Continue to Prague, capital of the Czech Republic and historic capital of Bohemia. (B)

Day 6


The wealth of gothic and baroque architecture perhaps inspired Dvorak and Smetana, both Prague composers. The included guided sightseeing features landmarks such as the Jewish Quarter, Charles Bridge, and the Old Town Square with its ASTRONOMICAL CLOCK. This afternoon, motor from Bohemia into Moravia and cross into Austria to spend two nights in its splendid capital, Vienna. This evening, enjoy a special dinner at a local restaurant. (B,D)

Day 7


There's so much to see on your included guided sightseeing tour: the State Opera, Parliament, and the Town Hall. Stop for a stroll in Heroes' Square to view the Hofburg. In the afternoon, an optional trip to the Palace of Schonbrunn. This evening, enjoy an optional Viennese concert. (B)

Day 8


Enjoy breathtaking alpine scenery as you travel across Austria to Velden and beautiful Lake Worth for a short visit. Next, cross into Italy by way of Tarvisio, then descend to the Venice area for two nights. (B)

Day 9


The included orientation starts with a BOAT RIDE to St. Mark's Square and is followed by free time to soak up the atmosphere of this unique city and a chance to visit a GLASSBLOWING WORKSHOP. Don't miss out on the optional gondola ride. (B,D)

Day 10


Travel south across the Po Plain into the very heart of the Apennines, dotted with towns and villages perched on the mountain sides. Spend time in medieval Assisi, where St. Francis was born in 1182. Visit the world-famous basilica with its beautiful frescoes by Giotto. Reach Rome in time to join the optional Rome by Night excursion. (B)

Day 11


Rome, the "Eternal City," is steeped in history, vibrantly alive and exciting, and absolutely unique! Included sightseeing with a Local Guide starts with St. Peter's Square and Basilica. Other highlights are the iconic Colosseum, the largest amphitheatre ever built; the Roman Forum; Piazza Venezia, and Campidoglio. An optional visit is available to the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel, world famous for Michelangelo's impressive fresco of The Last Judgment. (B)

Day 12


This morning, drive north through the Tuscan countryside to reach Florence, the "Cradle of the Renaissance." On the included walking tour with a Local Guide, discover most of the city highlights: Piazza Santa Croce; beautiful Piazza Signoria; Palazzo Vecchio; Loggia dei Lanzi; and, to top it all, Piazza del Duomo and its cathedral with the Giotto Campanile, and the magnificent East Door of the Baptistry, known as the "Gate of Paradise." Day 13


Head north and cross into Switzerland's Italian-speaking Canton Ticino. Stroll along Lugano's picturesque lakeside promenade before immersing yourself in the alpine landscapes of Lucerne and its surroundings. (B,D)

Day 14


One of Switzerland's finest cities, Lucerne is nestled amid its snowcapped Alps, surrounded by its lake, and graced by the clear mountain waters of the Reuss River. Your visit takes in the impressive city walls, CHAPEL BRIDGE, ornate patrician houses lining cobblestone streets, and the LION MONUMENT-a masterful stone sculpture in honour of the heroic Swiss Guard of Louis XVI. A grand selection of optional activities completes the day: a cable-car ride to the 3,048-metre (10,000-foot) summit of Mount Titlis; a cruise on the fjord-like lake; and, of course, there is time to shop for an authentic Swiss watch. Day 15


Enjoy vistas of green pastures and rustic chalets on the way to France. Travel past some of its famous vineyards as you approach the exciting capital, Paris. Arrive in time to enjoy the optional cabaret show. (B)

Day 16


Paris holds a special place in the imagination. It's a city of many facets and famed for its culture, beauty, sophistication, and sparkle. By sitting with a glass of wine in a bistro or sidewalk cafe, you can absorb the essence of the city. The centre has wide boulevards and impressive buildings. Included sightseeing with a local expert shows off many of the best-known Parisian sites: La Sorbonne, Arc de Triomphe, Opera, Madeleine, the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre Pyramid, the Invalides, and Champs Elysees. Optional excursions are also available to the Palace and Gardens of Versailles and, to celebrate the success of your tour, a French farewell dinner might be just the ticket. (B)
