Upon arrival in Yerevan, meet up with the local representative and transfer to your accommodation. Then spend the rest of the day at own leisure.
Day 2: Garni & Geghard breakfast
After breakfast, go on a city tour visit to Republic Square, Cascade Complex, and Northern Avenue & Yerevan Opera Theater. Proceed to Garni Temple and experience having lunch at a local house in Garni (at own expenses). Continue to visit the magnificent Geghard Monastery, inscribed into the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2000. Return to Yerevan and visit to the Matenadaran, a unique research institute of ancient manuscripts, where ancient treasures and culture are preserved and studied.
Day 3: Vagharshapat – Khor Virap breakfast
After breakfast, proceed to the city of Vagharshapat (Etchmiadzin) and visit the Etchmiadzin Cathedral, the spiritual center of Armenian people, also administrative center of the Armenian Apostolic Church. Continue to archaeological ruins of Zvartnots Cathedral , the pearl of the 7th architecture and also a UNESCO World Heritage. Proceed to Ararat region for a tour to Khor-Virap Monastery with wonderful views of Mount Ararat. Don’t miss to visit the “Ararat Brandy Factory” for brandy tasting before return back to Yerevan.
Day 4: Yeravan – Border Georgia – Tiblis breakfast
After breakfast, leave Yerevan to Lake Sevan and have a photo stop at the biggest lake in Caucasus. Via the Dilijan resort, continue to visit the Monastery Complex Haghpat also listed under the UNESCO World Heritage. Then transfer to Armenia /Georgia border (Sadakhlo – Bagratashen), change vehicle and meet up with the local representative before transfer to Tbilisi accordingly.
Day 5: Tbilisi breakfast
After breakfast, go on a full day city tour and visits to the Tbilisi Old Town, Metekhi Temple, Abanotubani district and Narikala Fortress .Then walking through narrow streets, where most carpet and souvenir shops are situated. Then continue to visit to the Sioni Cathedral , Bridge of Peace, Anchiskhati church, Georgian National Museum , Freedom Square and lastly Rustavelli Avenue ; one of the main streets of Tbilisi. Spend the rest of the evening at own leisure.
Day 6: Tbilisi – Mtskheta – Gori & Uplistsikhe – Gudauri breakfast & dinner
After breakfast, proceed to Mtskheta known as one the ancient cities and former capital of Georgia. Visit to the Jvari Monastery and Svetitskhoveli Cathedral which are listed under UNESCO World Heritage site. Continue to Gori, known as a fashion capital of Georgia. For extra charge you can visit Stalin Museum. Then proceed to Uplistsikhe, an abandoned rock-hewn town. Then drive through Georgian Military road, the historic name for a major route through Caucasus Mountains from Georgia to Russia. While on the way stop and visit Ananuri fortress before continue along the Aragvi River highway towards the Gudauri ski resort for overnight.
Day 7: Gudauri – Kazbegi – Tbilisi breakfast & dinner
After breakfast, crossing great Caucasus range at Jvari pass down into Kazbegi (Stepantsminda).Sameba Church with splendid
views of Mt. Kazbek is nested at the foot of Mount Kazbegi. You can opt to climb the steep mountain or pay extra and hire a 4×4 vehicle drive to take you up the church and excursion down to Kazbegi. Then return to Tiblisi.
Day 8: Tbilisi – Sighnaghi –Telavi / Tsinandali breakfast
After breakfast, start trip to Kakheti known for Georgia’s famous wine district dotted with old churches and vineyard. Continue to Sighnaghi and simply walking around the city to sample the atmosphere. Also visit one of the wineries where you can taste some sorts of Georgian wines. Then head to Telavi for sightseeing tour and visit the Alaverdi Cathedral, the main spiritual centre in Kakheti. Overnight either in Telavi or Tsinandali
Day 9: Kvareli – Sheki, Azerbaijan breakfast
Cross the border to Azerbaijan and meet up with the local representative before transfer to Sheki. Have sightseeing tour around Sheki and visit Sheki Khans’ Palace, local medieval fortress, a local History Museum, local handicrafts workshop and some panoramic view of the town.
Day 10: Sheki – Shamakhi – Baku breakfast
Transfer to Baku via Muganly passing and photo stops on the most beautiful places on the mountains. Pass by Shamakhi’s Maraza village and visit to their most famous landmarks such as Diri-Baba, Juma and Yeddi Gumbez Mausoleum. Upon arrival in Baku, spend the rest of the day at leisure.
Day 11: Baku – Absheron Peninsula – Baku breakfast
Explore the capital city and visit Baku Old City Icheri Sheher, Maiden Tower, Medieval Caravansaray, Medieval Markets square and Palace of the Shirvanshahs. Then head to the Absheron Peninsula and visit the Burning Mountain of Yanardag,
Day 12: Depart Baku breakfast
After breakfast, transfer to the airport for departure. (B)
