Gon on the classic Golden Circle tour consists of Iceland’s three most popular tourist attractions: Gullfoss Waterfall, Geysir Geothermal Area, and Þingvellir (Thingvellir) National Park. Take this opportunity to learn about Viking history of Reykjavik and the evolution of reykjavík as a town .
Day 1: Arrive Reykjavik
Arrival at Reykjavik, be transferred to the hotel and check in accordingly. Then the rest of the day at own leisure.
Day 2: Thingvellir – Geysir – Gullfoss – Fludir breakfast
After breakfast, head to the famous Golden Circle route. Visit to the Thingvellir National Park. Proceed to Gullfoss waterfall where nearby is the Geysir hot spring area and Strokkur; a high-spouting geyser that erupts every ten minutes. Stop by a family-run green house at Fridheimar , learn how to uses pollution free geothermal energy and bumble bee pollination to grow organic and enjoy a demonstration about the Icelandic horse breed and its unique five gaits.
Day 3: Reykjavik – Seljalandsfoss- Skogafoss -Vik – Reykjavik breakfast
After breakfast, drive along the south shore and stop at two waterfalls; Seljalandsfoss and Skogafoss with a view of Myrdalsjokull.Proceed to Vik, Iceland’s southernmost village and visit Reynisfjara beach. Take a walk on the black sands, admiring the rock formations and thundering waves of the Atlantic Ocean. Far out to sea can see the Reynisdrangar sea stacks. During the day, stop at lovely family-owned countryside café, The Old Cowshed, and taste some traditional Icelandic skyr or homemade ice-cream.
Day 4: Reykjanes – Blue Lagoon –breakfast
After breakfast, drive past the Presidential residence of Bessastadir and to the town of Hafnarfjordur. Then take a coastal road to Lake Kleifarvatn where lies Krysuvik, see numerous small hot springs, brightly colored mud pots, boiling pools and other types of geothermal activity. Then stop by a town with a sizeable fishing fleet, home to Grindavik. Head to the Blue Lagoon where you can soak in the healing waters of the lagoon a unique wonder of nature with pleasantly warm, mineral-rich water in the middle of a black lava field. Return to Reykjavik, where evening is at your own leisure.
Day 5: Old Town Reykjavik Walking tour breakfast
After breakfast, go for a walking tour of the downtown area. Discover city’s best-known and local secret places such as the Hallgrimskirkja Church, the City Hall, Reykjavik Ponds, Harpa Concert Hall, and the Old Harbor. Stop at a historical downtown bakery for a taste of a typical Icelandic treat. The tour ends in the downtown area, where you can enjoy a last evening on your own before return to the hotel at your own leisure (transfer is on your own)
Day 6: Depart Reykjavik breakfast
After breakfast, be transferred to airport for your flight back to home
