What To Expect
Discover the beautiful North Coast region of Port Stephens, with its pristine waterways, golden sandy beaches, eco diverse marina and National Parks. Escape the city and travel across the iconic Sydney Harbour Bridge. Continue north and cross the Hawkesbury River before arriving at the Australian Reptile Park, loaded with unique exhibits and animals.-
Day 1: Port Stephens Dolphins & Dunes Day Tour
Be greeted by a ranger who will escort you to the koala enclosures where you can see and touch one up close. Spend time exploring the park on your own to see wombats, kangaroos, platypus and crocodiles and visit Spider World where you can witness the spider Venom-Milking program. Further north, we arrive at Port Stephens where our first stop is Nelson Bay Marina. Here you will have time to explore the seaside town and enjoy lunch (own expense) before boarding the Dolphin Watching cruise. Board a large and comfortable vessel and cruise out of the marina in search for pods of bottlenose dolphins and see views of the local beaches, dramatic headlands and unspoiled waterways. There is always that chance to ride the boom net at the back of the vessel so bring your swimsuit in the warmer months. Next we head to the Stockton Sand Dunes, the largest sand dunes in the Southern Hemisphere. Join a guided tour in a purpose built 4WD, explore part of the 32 km long unspoiled beach and feel the sand between your toes. The 4WD will then take you to the tallest sand dune where you will have the chance to try sand-boarding, a thrill you will not forget. Upon disembarking the 4WD tour, you will board your coach for return transfer back to Sydney.
