Day 1:Arrive Reykjavik
Arrival in Reykjavik, transferred to the hotel and check in accordingly and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure.
Day 2:Reykjavik Culinary Walking tour
After breakfast, make your own way to outside of Harpa Music Hall and meet up with your local guide. Accompanied by a fun and knowledgeable local guide to everything from well-known ‘must visit’ restaurants to small family- run businesses and secret local hangouts in Reykjavik. Explore the local side of Reykjavik, meet hard-working families, hear fascinating stories, visit innovative restaurants and experience age-old traditions.Taste delicious local cuisine such as an Icelandic hot dog (pylsa), traditional Icelandic meat soup, homemade Icelandic ice cream from a secret family recipe and of course ; The healthy skyr .The afternoon and evening are open for your own activities.
Day 3:Reykjavik – Golden Circle – Reykjavik
Head to the Icelandic countryside and experience The Golden Circle also known as the ‘Big Three’:Geysir hot springs, Gullfoss waterfall and Thingvellir National Park. Soak in the Secret Lagoon, one of the oldest natural geothermal pools and view the area’s bubbling geothermal features.Then proceed to the Geysir geothermal area in Haukadalur Valley with many bubbling pools and spouting geysers. Continue to Gullfoss, the ‘Golden Waterfall’, the most famous of the country’s many waterfalls. Then onward to the historic and geological wonder of Thingvellir National Park, the area is surrounded by mountains and encompasses a vast lava plain and Iceland’s largest lake.
Day 4:Reykjavik – South Shore – Reykjavik
After breakfast, proceed to south coast and stops at the gorgeous Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss waterfalls. Please bring either a raincoat or a waterproof coat along if you want to walk behind Seljalandsfoss. Skogafoss, another famous Icelandic waterfall, is the starting point of the Fimmvordfuhals walk over to Þorsmöork. The waterfall was also used in the films Thor: The Dark World and The Secret Life of Walter Mitty. Also stop at Reynisfjara black sand beach, with the Reynisdrangar rock formations and columnar basalt. Lastly, stop by Solheimajokull and walk up to a small lake which has formed in front of the retreating glacier.
Day 5:Depart Reykjavik
After breakfast, be transferred to the airport for your flight back home.
