What To Expect

Day 1: Arrive Cancun
Upon arrival, pick up rental car and drive to hotel. After check in, enjoy the rest of the day at leisure.

Day 2: Cancun - Valladolid - Chichen Itza
Today visit Valladolid City and Chichen-Itza. Valladolid is built over the ancient Maya ceremonial center of Zaci. Valladolid is a great place to sample some of the distinct regional cuisine of Yucatán. Chichen-Itza is one of the 7 new wonders of the world.

Day 3: Chichen Itza – Celestun – Merida
Drive to Celestun and visit Ecological Reserve of Celestun, a picturesque coast village whose virgin beaches have made it an ideal showcase for those who seek to get away from the hustle of the massive tourist sites. You can take a tour by boat and admire the impressive variety of aquatic birds, among them more than 18 thousand flamingos that will paint the scene with pink color. Continue drive to Merida, check in and overnight.

Day 4: Merida – Uxmal / Kabah – Campeche
Today, visit Kabah and Uxmal archaeological sites. Kabah located 23 km southeast of Uxmal. The city known as the second largest religious center Puuc style. Uxmal, with majestic layout, spectacular jungle setting and pink-hued limestone pyramids and temples make Uxmal one of the most picturesque ancient cities in the Puuc region. Continue to Campeche. Check in and overnight.

Day 5: Campeche – Calakmul – Chicanna
Visit the the city of Campeche recognized by UNESCO as the “Historic Fortified City of Campeche”. This is the only walled city in Mexico. Later transfer to Calakmul, surrounded by dense jungle. It served as the main rival to mighty Tikal in neighboring Guatemala. The area’s wildlife and tropical plant life diversity is astonishing. Calakmul is home to 86 species of mammals (jaguar, puma, ocelot, margay, jaguarondi, anteater, spider monkey, howler monkey, and tapir, among others). Continue to drive to Chicanna and overnight.

Day 6: Chicanna – Kohunlich – Chetumal
Breakfast at hotel. Today visit Kohunlich archaeological site. Its name comes from the English word Cohoon ridge. There are also small hills with Cohune palms in this area, which is a species of palm tree from the south of the Yucatán peninsula and the Petén region of Guatemala and Belize. Later, drive to Chetumal and overnight.

Day 7: Chetumal – Bacalar – Tulum
Today, visit Bacalar Lagoon (take a ride in boat) It is one of the most beautiful lagoons in Mexico. Then, visit Tulum archaeological site. Tulum was an ancient Mayan fortress city that rose to power toward the end of the Classic period. The cliff-top Castillo, with its beachfront location and lush green landscape, is the image most often associated with the Mayan Riviera. Continue to Tulum and overnight.
