Breakfast at the hotel. Delve into old Riyadh, starting in the downtown area with a visit to the traditional Dirah Souq, renowned for antique carpets and Saudi heritage artifacts. The walk is scented with sandalwood and oriental fragrances. Next, explore the Masmak Fort, a key landmark in the establishment of the modern Saudi Kingdom. Built in 1895 as a military garrison, it was captured by King Abdulaziz in 1902, marking the reconquest of Arabia. After leisurely lunch, drive 30 minutes to Ad-Diriyah, the former capital of Najd and birthplace of the first Saudi Kingdom, now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Admire Najdi architecture and learn about its history as a vital trade and pilgrimage route. Return to downtown Riyadh, witnessing the city’s rapid development. Breakfast at the hotel. Start the journey to Hegra, Saudi Arabia’s first UNESCO World Heritage Site and the largest preserved Nabataean civilization site south of Petra. With over 110 tombs carved from colossal rock formations, visitors can explore and learn about the culture, traditions, and history of the Nabataeans. Lunch is at leisure. The exploration continues to discover the ancient Dadanite and Lihyanite kingdoms that shaped AlUla. A 10-minute drive takes you to Jabal Ikmah, an open library of inscriptions, rock art, and petroglyphs in a desert canyon. Visit Jebel Al-Fil (Elephant Rock) to relax amid the golden desert sands and witness the awe-inspiring monolithic red sandstone structure shaped by millions of years of natural forces.
