Day 1 Your Journey Begins in Lisbon

Welcome to Lisbon! On arrival ride the metro or let us know if you would rather have a car pick you up from the airport and transfer to your hotel for a 3-night stay. Once checked in, head out to explore this beautiful city. (Overnight Lisbon)

Day 2 Lisbon

Enjoy a day of leisure in the Portuguese capital today. The Praca do Comercio is the unmissable heart of the city, and from here why not head to the Pradao dos Descobrimentos and impressive medieval Belem Tower. From here its just a short stroll to the iconic Pastéis de Belem bakery for some delicious, traditional tarts, then perhaps pay a visit to the world heritage listed Jerónimos Monastery nearby.

Day 3 Sintra, Cabo Da Roca, Cascais and Estoril Day Trip

Join a very small group tour today to Sintra – a village of UNESCO World Heritage. The former summer residence of the Portuguese Kings is home to the Pena Palace. Dating from the 16th century it is considered one of the world’s most beautiful castles. Following lunch, you will slowly return to Lisbon via the coast and following stops at Cabo da Roca – the most westerly point of Europe, the pretty fisherman village of Cascais and the beaches of Estoril. In the evening be sure to wander the historic Barrio Alto neighbourhood for a great selection of local bars and restaurants for dinner, as well as some fantastic views of the city to match. Day 4 Lisbon to Lagos

Make your way to Lisbon Entrecampos station for your train south. Enjoy watching the green fields of the southern Portuguese plains fly past as you arrive in Tunes and change here for a local train through to Lagos. On arrival make your way to your hotel for a 4-night stay. (Overnight Lagos)

Day 5 Lagos

Spend the day relaxing today, and perhaps even hit the beach – Praia da Batata and Meia Praia are 2 of the Algarve’s most beautiful beaches and very central. If you are feeling energetic why not enjoy the stroll to the Ponta de Piedade and enjoy the impressive views, then walk down to the impressive caves for a dip? (Overnight Lagos)

Day 6 Silves and Monchique Day Trip

Visit 2 beautiful villages today on a small group tour. First Silves, with its must-see castle and ancient Cathedral and fascinating archaeology museum. Next stop is the thermal spa of Caldes de Monchique, a place of true natural beauty, then onto the small village of Monchique for a stroll. Onto Foia next, which is the highest point in the Algarve, and from here the views across the region really are breath-taking. There is still time to visit a local winery and enjoy a tasting before returning to Lagos. (Overnight Lagos)

Day 7 West Coast Natural Park Day Trip

Following breakfast at your hotel head off to explore this beautiful region on a very small group tour. Visit ancient Aljezur castle, and nearby Monte Clérigo beach, then follow the coastline down as it becomes more rugged and dramatic. The stunning black cliffs of Arrifana are more than impressive, then its onto Sagres, otherwise known as the end of the world in Roman times. Its ancient fortress has been wind-whipped for centuries whist this is the only know place in the world where white storks are known to nest. Pay a final visit and enjoy more spectacular views at the Cape of St Vincent before returning to Lagos. If all that fresh Atlantic Sea air has not tired you out too much, enjoy a traditional seafood dinner in one of Lagos’ many beachside bars. (Overnight Lagos)
