Day-by-day itinerary

Day 1 Arrive Guangzhou

Upon arrival at Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport, meet and greet by your local tour guide, followed by transfer to the hotel for check-in. The rest of the day is free at your own leisure to explore the city.

Day 2 Guangzhou

After breakfast at the hotel, visit Guangzhou Apollo Park, a leading smart transport hub developed by Baidu featuring autonomous vehicles and intelligent transport systems. Experience the future of mobility with rides on a Robobus and Robocab (fare included). Continue with an outside view of the iconic Canton Tower, followed by a stroll through the modern CBD of Zhujiang New Town and Huacheng Square. Explore the contemporary Haixinsha Asian Games Park, then visit Yongqing Fang and Bruce Lee’s Ancestral House. Day 3 Guangzhou - Meizhou

After breakfast, transfer to the railway station for a high-speed train ride to Meizhou (second class). Upon arrival, meet your guide and visit the Hakka Museum of China, the country’s first comprehensive museum dedicated to Hakka history, culture, and architecture. Continue to the Former Residence of Huang Zunxian (Renjinglu), an elegant Lingnan garden residence reflecting the life of the famous Qing dynasty diplomat and poet. In the evening, visit Hakka Park, renowned for its scenic beauty and rich Hakka architectural heritage, before check-in to your hotel.

Day 4 Meizhou - Dabu - Yongding - Meizhou

After breakfast, depart for Dabu and visit the Former Residence of Xie Jinyuan, a heroic Chinese military commander from WWII. Continue to Yongding to explore the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Yongding Tulou, famous for its grand circular and square earthen architecture. Visit Zhenchenglou, the Prince of Earth Buildings, Fuyulou, an elegant Five-Phoenix-style residence, Kuijulou, known as the Potala-style tulou, and Rushenglou, the smallest circular tulou in the cluster. Later, proceed to Qiaoxi Ancient Village, a picturesque Hakka settlement nestled among terraced fields and mountains, before returning to Meizhou.

Day 5 Meizhou - Chaozhou - Shantou

After breakfast, visit Songkou Ancient Town, an important historical trading post and point of departure for Hakka migrants travelling overseas. Next, travel to Chaozhou to visit Guangji City Gate and Guangji Bridge, one of China’s most famous ancient bridges featuring floating pontoon boats. Walk along Paifang Street (Memorial Arch Street) and admire the historic Kaiyuan Temple, dating back to the Tang Dynasty. Continue to Shantou, where you will visit Shantou Old Town (Small Park Area), known for its unique Arcade (Qilou) architecture, followed by a visit to the Shipaotai Park, an 1870s coastal fortress, before check-in to your hotel.

Day 6 Shantou - Meizhou

After breakfast, visit the Swatow Post Office, one of the earliest post offices in China, followed by a stop at Maritime Silk Road Square, commemorating Shantou’s maritime trade history. Afterwards, journey back to Meizhou and visit the Former Residence of Ye Jianying, one of modern China’s key military and political leaders, set against beautiful countryside landscapes, before returning to the hotel.

Day 7 Meizhou - Guangzhou

After breakfast, transfer to the railway station for your high-speed train return to Guangzhou. Upon arrival, visit Shamian Island, an atmospheric historic area with charming European-style colonial architecture. Continue to the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall, built in honour of Dr. Sun Yat-sen, the founding father of modern China. Afterwards, enjoy free time for shopping and dining along Beijing Road Pedestrian Street, Guangzhou’s most famous bustling commercial boulevard, before transfer to the hotel.

Day 8 Guangzhou - Panyu - Guangzhou

After breakfast at the hotel, proceed to Panyu and visit Baomo Garden, a picturesque Lingnan-style garden renowned for its classical architecture and serene landscapes. Continue to Shawan Ancient Town to explore its rich Cantonese heritage, followed by Yuyin Shanfang, one of Guangdong’s finest classical gardens. End the day at Xifang Courtyard and Dream Space Library, where heritage architecture meets modern creativity, before overnight in Guangzhou.
